Ben Norris has been performing stand-up comedy for several years and is one of the most sought after comperes on the circuit. He was resident compere at Screaming Blue Murder in Wimbledon, introducing acts such as Lee Hurst and Harry Hill, and has since established himself with most of the UK's finest comedy venues, earning a reputation for his ability to work an audience and think fast on his feet.
He spent the majority of 1998 presenting MTV's HOT and went on to take his first solo show SITTING ROOM ONLY to that summer's Edinburgh Festival, which met with great critical acclaim. This followed hot on the heels of Ben's success at Edinburgh the previous year, as host of the sell-out Screaming Blue Murder Big Value Comedy Show.
Ben made his first big splash on TV in 1997, when he appeared in front of an estimated live TV audience of 9 million on The Big, Big Talent Show with Jonathan Ross. Since then he has appeared on shows such as Channel 5's Five's Company, The Bunker (The Bravo Channel), The Stand Up Show (BBC) and Gas (C4), and recorded a new set for The Comedy Store (C5).
During 1999, Ben appeared on The Stand Up Show (BBC TV), co-presented an evening of programmes for BBC Choice with Katie Puckrik, appeared on the Ian Payne Show (Radio 5 Live), recorded a set for Net,Com using websites as inspiration for off-the-cuff comedy routines and presented Porn Crackers for Sky TV. During 2001, Ben was interviewed for 100 Greatest Children's TV Shos (TTTV), recorded a set for BBC TV's Stand Up Alive at the Edinburgh Festival and appeared as a guest panellist on They Think It's All Over (BBC). He recently featured as a panellist on BBC2's Never Mind the Buzzcocks.
Backstage, Ben has warmed up the audiences for Channel 5's Bring Me the Head of Light Entertainment It's Only TV But I Like It, Friday night with Jonathan Ross (BBC1), Your Face or Mine, V Graham Norton (C4) and Liar (BBC2), for which he also writes.
