Phil Butler
"Without doubt, one of the most exciting and original finds in comedy in recent years" - The Guardian
Phil Butler has been performing for over 18 years and has enjoyed a career which seems to get better all the time. He started as a comedy magician but soon realised that being a comic is his true vocation. His boundless confidence and razor sharp wit will quickly endear him to any audience beit a comedy club, corporate or family crowd. His fast moving act has taken him all over the world, from cruising in the Caribbean and the Med, to entertaining the Armed Forces stationed everywhere from Northern Ireland and the Falklands to Bosnia and Croatia.
More recently, Phil has found himself in Europe and the Far East as part of the ever-growing comedy circuit where he has become a firm favourite in the UK clubs including Jongleurs and the Comedy Store. This talented and popular comedian has always been a sure fire hit, even in the early days when he was serving his apprenticeship in the tough Northern working men's clubs and as a visiting cabaret in the holiday camps.
All this experience set him in good stead for the many production shows which he has starred in, such as; the famous 'Seaside Special Show' in Cromer and 'Phil Butler's Christmas Party' at the Horseshoe Showbar in Blackpool. Boasting a full supporting cast, this not only gave Phil the chance to shine as a first rate top of the bill, but also gave him a platform to show off his talents as a singer and dancer, which he took forward when playing the comedy lead in Panto.
In 2004, 3 Mobile, the video / mobile telephone company, recorded Phil's show, which enables their customers to download clips of his side-splitting act. This shows that he is an act that moves with times, a talent for all ages and a face for the millennium.
Phil's career is now evolving again after landing his first acting role on BBC 1's 'Hotel Babylon' where he played the part of a mischievous chef. His second role came soon after, and Phil can now be seen singing in the latest AA television advert. This man has no boundaries.
It's no wonder such sparkling entertainment has produced the following quotes from the showbiz press:-
"Phil Butler's got it all ... unique, original and hilarious"
