Christian Reilly

"A star in the making" Metro Magazine 2004

Christian first moved into the world of comedy as Otis Lee Crenshaw’s [Rich Hall] guitar-wielding sidekick – a job which took him from Nottingham to Nashville, Tennessee. Now an international comedian playing all the major comedy venues, Christian blends stand-up with dynamic guitar/vocal abilities to relate his unique experience with a sharp wit, youthful energy and effortless charm – with the occasional snipe at histrionic rock bands, musical theatre and morose indie musicians.

He has written for and appeared on two series of ’That Was Then This Is Now’
(BBC Radio 2) as musical counterpart to Richard Herring and Emma Kennedy as well as giving his improvisation skills a regular outing on Rowland Rivron’s ’Jammin’ (BBC Radio 2) with Kim Wilde and Hazel O’ Connor.

So far in 2007, Christian has hosted the Nottingham Live Music Weekend, (sharing the bill with The Magic Numbers, Just Jack and Cherry Ghost) and has appeared at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival, the Kilkenny Cat Laughs Festival, The Liverpool Comedy Festival, Latitude Festival and has just finished a successful run at the Edinburgh Fringe with his first solo show, How To Rock. A third series of "That Was Then, This Is Now" is scheduled for the autumn.

Christian made his acting debut at the 2006 Edinburgh Festival, playing the hilariously faded Vegas lounge crooner Tony Luga in The Murder Show, conceived and written by the company.

With his unique take on life and skilled improvisations, Christian’s comic songs, sharp wit and youthful energy delights audiences wherever he performs.
